Does my indoor cat need vaccines?

Yes. Diseases and parasites can still make their way into your home – high-rise condos included! Plus, it is very common for pets to sneak out of windows or doors left ajar. All it takes is a few seconds for them to be exposed to danger. All cats need some form of vaccination regardless of their living situation. That being said, the vaccines that an outdoor cat may need can vary from those that an indoor cat may need.

Are vaccines safe for cats?

Absolutely. Vaccines undergo rigorous testing before being available to the public. In rare instances, some of our patients experience mild and temporary side effects. Examples include swelling at the injection point, nausea, fever, and fatigue.

When my kitten becomes an adult cat, do they still need to be vaccinated?

Yes. Cats need to be vaccinated throughout their life to maintain immunity and protection. Injections must be administered yearly or every 3 years, depending on the specific vaccine being administered.
