Why do we offer wellness plans for pets?
We created health wellness plans for our clients who would like to ensure their pet’s medical needs are kept up to date. Our pet plans are for an entire year, but are broken down into monthly payments to help make preventative care for pets affordable.
Wellness plans don’t replace pet insurance and do not include surgeries, tooth extractions and other procedures. Our wellness plans include routine veterinary examinations and follow up visits, Distemper Virus, Adeno Virus, Parvo Virus, Parainfluenza virus and Rabies vaccinations, blood work, and fecal testing. Our senior pet plans also include annual chest x-rays. Choose our dental wellness plan to have your pet’s dental cleanings included.

What can regular vet visits do for my pet?
Reactive health care is always going to be part of veterinary health care. At some points most pets will become ill or contract a chronic illness or disease. When a pet is diagnosed, it is our job to provide treatment, which is reactive care.
Preventative care, on the other hand, is often seen as optional. However, regular vet visits in combination with preventative health care measures can provide your pet with an improved quality of life and help them avoid chronic illness and disease.
It is important for your vet to examine your dog or cat every six months to a year, depending on their age, and as needed when issues arise. Having a regular chat with your vet about any changes to your pet’s life, health and behavior can reveal important and treatable conditions. That is why our pet wellness plans include routine examinations and follow up appointments.

What can bloodwork and fecal testing detect?
Blood work is vital when it comes to preventative health care. Testing your dog or cat’s blood tells us how their organs are functioning properly. Abnormalities in their bloodwork are often an indication of an underlying disease and the need for additional testing. Revealing chronic illness or disease early on, allows for a much better treatment prognosis.
Fecal testing will uncover any internal parasite living in your pet’s GI system and allow us to treat them.
Why maintain my pet’s vaccinations?
Vaccinations provide your pet against serious and preventable illnesses. Distemper Virus, Adeno Virus, Parvo Virus, Parainfluenza virus and Rabies vaccinations, is required for dogs and cats every three years, and are included in the wellness plans.
Our wellness plans also provide titer tests every three years for those who would like to check their pet’s immunity, for those who are concerned about over vaccination. Titer tests do not provide a guarantee against your pet contracting an illness, but do give you an indication of your pet’s level of immunity against the illness. They can also give you an indication if your pet has developed an immunity following a vaccination.
Why have your pet’s teeth cleaned?
Pet’s need to have their teeth cleaned, just like us. Plaque, calculus and dental disease can occur, causing bacteria, pain, gum infections and resulting in expensive teeth extractions. If your pet loses too many teeth it can be difficult for them to eat.
Keeping your pet’s dental health maintained can be key in their overall quality of life!
Why should senior cats and dogs have their chest x-rayed?
As pets age, we need to keep an eye on their heart and lungs. For example, small dogs they can often get something called a collapsing trachea which can make them cough a lot where there is pressure on that area or they’re excited.
Just like humans our dog and cat’s heart and lungs can fail as they age, causing serious, sometimes fatal health conditions. We include chest x-rays to monitor the situation and keep you informed on your pet’s lung and heart health.
